I have always hated to be near bees, wasps and hornets. As a teen, I crossed the path of an already angry beehive and I ended up with them in my clothes, under my arms and many stings, etc, etc.!
When I purchased my macro lens, I never gave it a thought that if I was going to get close to any outside flower, I was going to have to run the risk of bumping into these and other insects….. It took a little time but now I get up close.
So…..a lesson learned, if you don’t bother them, they won’t bother you! (I hope)!

THESE TWO ARE NOT PAYING ANY ATTENTION TO ME!

SETTING UP TO TAKE A PHOTO OF A PRETTY FLOWER, I NEVER SAW THIS ONE COMING. I DISCOVERED HIM IN THE SHOT AFTER I UPLOADED MY PHOTOS.
I HAVE HAD PEOPLE TELL ME I PHOTOSHOPPED HIM IN, BUT THAT NEVER HAPPENED. IT IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE PHOTOS.
THANKS FOR COMING BY……
Lovely macros…(Suzanne)
Thank you Suzanne……
You have definitely overcome your worst fear. Needless to say, you are cautious, but you can now get close…and look at what you were able to capture. Such beautiful shots filled with color and movement. You did a wonderful job with your macros. genie
I don’t think you ever totally overcome a fear but you learn how to deal with it in a different way. Thanks for your comments Genie
WONDERFUL images!
Thank you Kerri
Wonderful shots . . . and what a wonderful unexpected surprise. 🙂 I can never get them to sit still long enough for me to photograph them.
The camera was set for movement (for the flower), otherwise, the wasp would have blurred. I just got lucky.
Yes, the bugs tend to move around, they see you coming! It is a challenge but well worthwhile when you get it right…
My my…. things are getting “busy” in the garden. great shots
Thank you Nana….
Beautiful shots!
Thanks Pat…
Lovely shots, what lens are you using?
nikon, 105mm macro. Thanks..
My children think the picture is ‘so cool’ . They’ve never seen a wasp so close. Thanks for sharing, the kids are learning a lot through your photos 🙂
Nice to know that the children are getting something from the blog. Thanks Laura….
