Macro Monday this week is on April 1. Spring is about to arrive here in Ontario and along with spring will come a fresh array of bugs and insects. This is may not be on everyones hurrah list, but it is for macro photographers.
So, I have picked out a few of my bug/insect photos to share. When I do my macro photography, I try very hard to get the eyes really sharp. It can be difficult because the eyes are small and any micro movement either by myself or the insect, the eyes will blur.

GREEN STINKBUG
.
We tend to destroy insects that invade our gardens or our houses. When you get to actually look into their eyes and see them watching, you realize that they have life and are doing what they have to get through their day just like we do. All relative, of course…..
.
Itsy, bitsy, spider……..
.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS CATERPILLAR, IS THAT IT HAS A FALSE EYE ON THE BACK END OF HIM. HIS HEAD IS HIDDEN UNDER HIS BODY FOR PROTECTION.
.
I REALIZED IT WAS A FALSE EYE, WHEN I SAW HIM MOVING FORWARD, HEAD FIRST.
I AM REALY LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING OUT WITH MY MACRO AGAIN THIS SUMMER . IT’LL BE INTERESTING TO SEE WHAT ELSE IS HIDDEN BENEATH THE GREENERY!
THANKS FOR COMING BY………………………
Great photos!
I like to capture macro shots of insects too.
Have a wonderful week!

It is lots of fun.. Thanks Lea!
Fantastic photos , but I understand, not always nice tp have these in your backyard.
You are right.. but fun to photograph…..Thanks!
Great macros! I had some success last year with a yellow caterpillar and also an orange dragonfly and wasd so happy because I don’t have the best camera for macro shots! I’m hoping to get some good ones this year! Love your insects. They are so wonderful when you can see them up close!
You just have to keep on trying even if you have the best lens. It doesn’t always click.. Thanks!
Fabulous macros! Good job!
Thanks very much…
Wow, great shots. Very nice even if they’re kind of yucky 🙂
As long they are outside – I am a happy camper! Thanks…
