The featured photo shows the six meter statue located on the site of the Great Ottawa Fire in 1900. This is one of three parts of this Canadian Firefighters Memorial dedicated to all the firemen that have died in the line of duty since 1848. A yearly ceremony each September is held.
A fitting entry for this weeks A Word a Week Photo Challenge: Metallic.
On a bus trip through Ottawa, it was a one shot deal as we drove by it, with me getting my camera as close to a window as possible with my eye on the viewfinder and my sister watching for the statue site to come into sight. Now that was teamwork! My niece and her husband are both firefighters.
