Chinese Erhu…

This delightful gentleman plays the ‘erhu’ which is a 2 stringed fiddle.

1000 years old, from the Tang Dynasty,  the erhu is considered  to be one of the top ten Chinese instruments.

The bottom of the violin or fiddle,  is held between the musicians knees. It  takes the place of a regular violin found in a western orchestra.

Sunday afternoon in Chinatown, San Francisco, on a beautiful day and the streets were packed with tourists and locals.
