Coldwater Annual Duck Race Parade…..

Everybody loves a parade…Today Mother Nature was in a good mood. The weather was absolutely fabulous. Cool temperatures, blue skies and bright sunshine allowed the many volunteers and parade goers enjoy the day in comfort.

The Lions Annual Lions Duck Parade and Race is a fund raiser and money raised is used in the community where needed.

The race along the Coldwater River takes place in the afternoon and there are some great prizes that go to the winning ducks. For $5.00 I get to cheer my duck ‘Harold’ on to a possible win!

Many of the stores along main street have duck displays in the windows. (Scroll bottom of photo for titles)

Everyone was out this morning, walking or waiting along the parade route for the ceremonies to begin.

The Shriners and other Lions groups come from around Simcoe County to entertain….

Car Rally and Vintage Car Show filled Main Street for all to enjoy!

Everyone loves the legion bagpipers.    The vintage firetrucks come out too….

Its all over for another year but the benefits of the money raised are just beginning. Thanks to everyone for a good time!

  1. Fabulous! I have a mega collection of rubber ducks! I had one (because I am a big kid at heart) and people found out and started buying them for me, now I have loads, my favourite are Duck Vader and Ducktor Who. This post made me smile, Barbara, thank you 🙂
